I started riding motorbikes @ the age of 8 with my sister’s moped which looked like a chopper with a 50 cc engine & ape hanger handlebars.  Well, like me, the bikes have evolved from there.  After moving to Toronto I gave up the speed bike for a KLR650 which started me down the dual sport path.  Many 650’s of wreckage later I figured it was time for something stronger & faster.   Shortly after moving to Vancouver , I bought my DR800 which I aptly named “DR BIG” but, like everything else I destroyed that too….

I figured if I had 2 bikes I wouldn’t wreck the dualsport one so I bought an XR650r as well as a BMW1150gs ADV.  Well, you guessed it, I broke the entire frame off the back of the 1150.  Needless to say, BMW is still scratching their heads at that one.  Since Tracy looked like a keeper I decided that we both needed good bikes to go traveling together with.  Enter the 950’s which have been the best bike’s we have ever owned.  I have yet to wreck it & it does everything I need it to do.

Adventure riding for me is the epitome of freedom.  There is nothing quite like riding through the bush on a high powered motorcycle, enjoying the scenery & the ride.  At the end of the day you are tired yet exhilarated & looking forward to the next day to come.
