Job: Was a coprorate slave. Now taking the winter off to ski and taking summer '08 off to ride. I'll go back to work sometime, maybe.

Bikes: 2007 BMW F650 GS, 2007 Yamaha XT225, 2006 BMW F650 GSL (for sale).

Until July 1, 2006, I was an avid Mtn Biker and Windsurfer. What happened on July 1? Well... I started riding and became hooked. I bought an 06 BMW F650 GS sight unseen after a few years of hearing about all the riding adventures from my brothers and my sister-in-law. They were stopping by my place for the July 4 Holiday on their way to CA for a bike tour. I timed it so I would have a bike and learner's permit in hand by then. My plan was to get my bro to teach me to ride then take me on part of their tour. They didn't know my intensions 'til they got there. Well, my good ole bro gave me 4 days of riding lessons, and then we did a 3 day camping tour. The pic below is of that first ride. Notice, no plate, or farkles on the bike yet. Just a backpack. Oh, I'm the one on the right.

A year later, I had 20K miles on that bike, had discovered ADV, and was starting to ride off the highways. By now I have 2 new bikes, more dirt experience, and feel like I'm ready to tackle something big like this Backroads Adventure!
